Abigail Leeks is a jeweller who has lived and worked in Brighton for six years now. She originally arrived to study for her degree in 3D Design & Craft, specialising in jewellery and graduated in 2018. Since then she has worked closely in the design and manufacture of many forms of jewellery, currently working in one of Brightons’ leading bespoke jewellery companies.
Abigail strongly believes in using art as a tool for connection and is often involved in community arts. Recently part of a team facilitating an art project,
funded through Brighton & Hove Communities Recovery Fund, to encourage women, from
The Network of International Women for Brighton & Hove, to join the 8 week project, exploring different techniques, sharing their work and being inspired by others. Creating community and connection through the art made and discussed.
She is also very active in the Brighton Charity Sector, involved in a variety of organisations and regularly volunteering with Time To Talk Befriending. An intergenerational befriending charity for older people, suffering from isolation and loneliness, who facilitate connecting and building friendships within the community. Indeed, the spare time Abi committed helped lead to the gestation of Familiar Faces.
Every piece of jewellery created by Abi is made in precious metal, using 'eco silver' and recycled gold, using sustainable and eco friendly materials where possible - this is of high importance to Abi, with the addition of stones sourced from a reliable dealer. Every piece is hallmark and includes Abi's personal makers mark of her initials - A L.
Every face is individually hand crafted with its own character, is hand carved, and can be made into rings, pendants or earrings. To be cherished and adored by the wearer. Please allow up to 6 weeks for any order.
